WTF Weird True Facts
With a large reach via the Internet, Facebook, and other social media, IFL Science was interested in pairing the synergies of their brand with Ripley’s Believe It or Not! and creating a co-branded title. I went to work, developing the strategic direction, which included showcasing the best of both brands—weird-but-true stories based on the key categories IFL Science covers with BION (Believe It or Not) facts sprinkled throughout.
Ripley’s Believe It or Not!
I have managed the creation of the yearly title anxiously awaited by Ripley fans each fall, including overseeing the content development, editorial, design, scheduling, and production coordination.
Sharkee & The Teddy Bear
Co-collaborating with an editor I managed, we wrote and art directed a series of picture books featuring Ripley’s Aquarium mascots, including Sharkee. Several books won NAPPA awards in 2018, including this one.
Time Warp
Built off of a page of fun facts relating to unbelievable events and their timing, this book was a new take on trivia, winning a Bronze Moonbeam Award in 2018.

Developed as a way to tell Mom in big ways, small ways, and all ways how much she means and beat out a consistent best-seller for telling mom how much she’s loved and appreciated.

Working closely with Hallmark Writer Keion Jackson, this book represents his take on faith in fun and relatable ways.
Batman (You’re the Star of the Story)
This interactive costume and storybook featured the voices of Batman and accompanying story characters. I worked with Marvel to develop the story, the sound effects, and the scripts for the character voices. When the child wears the cape and speaks certain phrases aloud from the story, the device listens for them and plays the appropriate corresponding audio. I oversaw the development of the overall concept and all of the various characters, stories, scripts, and music.
Disney’s Winnie the Pooh Interactive Story Buddy and Books
I worked closely with Disney to develop stories, sounds, and interactive dialogue from the Story Buddy Winnie the Pooh. When adults read the stories, a device inside the plush character listens for key phrases. When it hears them, it plays the corresponding sound clips for a magical reading experience.
