Stories are my life.
When I was 3 and my mom couldn’t read enough bedtime stories to satisfy me, she taught me how to read on my own. It’s been a love affair with the written word ever since.
While I’ve outgrown my childhood Trixie Belden mystery obsession, I still love reading, writing, and editing.
My passion became my profession, and I’ve spent my career doing things I still can’t believe I’ve had the opportunity to do, like:
meet poet Maya Angelou as the Editorial Director for her Hallmark line of greeting cards (she was amazing!!!)
reposition and relaunch a B2B tech publication
oversee the development of innovative book products using voice recognition technology, originally scored music, scripting, and voice talent
co-author and direct the illustration for award-winning picture books for Ripley Aquariums
champion, develop, and launch a line of proprietary children’s readers for Ripley’s Believe It or Not!
ghostwrite a book recounting the amazing adventures of explorer and activist Alison Teal in Alison’s Adventures (if you don’t know Alison, you should!)
If there’s one thing I discovered about myself on this journey, it’s that I love trying on a new hat. I’ve worn lots of them over the years: writer, editor, manager, director, strategist, micro-marketer, consumer expert, scheduler, budgeter, production head, brainstormer, team member, influencer, cheerleader, coach, mentor, listening ear, and a comforting shoulder.
After all the chapters in my career so far, it’s still stories that fuel me. I do this for the sheer love of it. I love creating great writing. I love making wonderful books. I love guiding writers to understand how to make their writing sing. And I’d love to help you, too!
